Our first stop was the city of Vestmannaeyjabaer, on the island of Heimaey in the Westman Islands. The city was partially destroyed in 1973 by lava from an eruption of the volcano Helgafell. which had been dormant for about 5,900 years.

Probably the highlight of the cruise was passing through Prince Christian Sound in the southern tip of Greenland. Fortunately we had perfect weather for this unique experience.
